Kayak fishing is a rapidly growing sport. The differences between Kayak Fishing and traditional boat and motor fishing are that you can be silent in a kayak, and you can reach many places that full size boats can't go, such as small back lakes and more shallow areas.
Kayak fishing clubs are popping up everywhere. If you decide to bring a kayak you will enjoy several lakes that are attached to Olive, and countless back lakes in the area. Some have small portages and others you can slide your kayak right through.
Silence is golden when it comes to fishing. With a traditional boat and motor, you create noise and vibration in the water. What happens? It puts fish into defense mode and they scatter and look for cover. In a kayak, you can slide right into a bay without making a disturbance, and you have a much better chance of catching fish.
Kayak fishing has gained popularity as well because it is environmentally friendly (think eco-fishing). It also requires less knowledge than running a traditional boat, and costs much less than a boat and motor. They require little maintenance and storage space, and launch into the water quickly and easily.
Kayaks travel very easily and are great for both fresh and salt water fishing. With countless accesories, you can customize a kayak with just about anything!
